Steven has extensive legal experience in commercial law with a particular focus on franchising.

Steven applies this experience in a pragmatic way to help create franchise systems that grow and develop, and helps solve problems and create solution should the need arise.

Current Assignments

Haval Motors is a new entrant in the competitive car and SUV market in Australia. Haval is establishing a franchised dealer network around Australia. Steven was intimately involved in their launch into the Australian market in 2015 and continues to look after all legal aspects of the business.

Steven also represents Great Wall Motors Australia after assisting the Great Wall Motors China successfully negotiate and execute the transition of the business from a third party distributor model to a factory direct franchise operation in 2016 and continues to look after all legal aspect of the business.

Steven has been working with a number of new entrants to the franchise sector successfully undertaking the work to develop their franchise model with full legal documentation, systems and processes necessary commence franchise operations.

Recent Projects

The Client: Successful podiatry practice ready to expand.
The Challenge: Grow a network through franchising the business.
The Outcome: Established a new franchise model at minimal cost working closely with the owners to understand the business and customise a solution. Educated client on franchising process and provided expertise necessary to guide client smoothly through the transition from owner/operator to franchisor.

The Challenge: To turn-around a fragmented network and provide the new owner with a commercially viable business.
The Outcome: Re-gained control of the network, introduced stability, worked through any outstanding legal issues, introduced systems and process into the business and provided a platform for sustainable future growth.
